The Legacy: The Best of Big Pun (English for the legacy: the best of Big Pun ) is a compilation album by the American rapper Big Punisher . It was released on September 18, 2009 on the Loud Records label .

Most of the songs selected for the compilation come from the rapper's two studio albums Capital Punishment and Yeeeah Baby . The former is represented with seven songs and the latter with four songs. It also includes four guest posts by Big Puns taken from albums by other artists.

Many different music producers were involved in the production of the songs selected for the album, including Dr. Dre , Just Blaze , Swizz Beatz and The Beatnuts . Two instrumentals each come from Younglord, The Infinite Arkatechz and Rockwilder .
Cover design
The album cover is kept in dark blue tones. It shows Big Pun wearing a baseball cap and looking at the viewer. In the foreground are the lettering Big Pun and The Legacy in dark yellow letters and below that The Best of Big Pun in white.
Guest Posts
In addition to Big Pun, 16 of the 21 tracks feature other artists, including his crewmates from the Terror Squad ; Fat Joe (who has four guest appearances), Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link , Armageddon and Prospect. Singer Joe is on the song Still Not a Player and singer Donell Jones sings the chorus of It's So Hard . Other guest contributions were made by rappers The Beatnuts , Noreaga , Black Thought , Jadakiss , Styles P. , Nature, Cam'ron , Raekwon , Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz. In addition, Snoop Dogg and Ghostface Killah comment on Big Pun in two skits.
