Black Thought
Black Thought (born October 3, 1972 in Philadelphia ), real name Tariq Trotter, is an American rapper and co-founder of the hip-hop group The Roots , together with the drummer Ahmir Khalib Thompson, called Questlove . He is one of the representatives of Conscious Rap .
Live and act
Trotter has appeared in a few films, but mostly in cameo roles. In early September 2007 he was cast in Mark Webber's directorial debut ( Bomb The System ). The independent film Explicit Ills , in which he also appeared, deals with the consequences of poverty, drug use and certain choices that people are forced to make in life.
Since 2011 a solo recording by Trotter has been announced again and again, which should be entitled The Talented Mr. Trotter . According to Trotter, it should be a blues album on which he would sing instead of rapping as usual.
In 2018 Black Thought released the mini-albums Streams of Thought, Vol. 1 and Streams of Thought, Vol. 2 , the successors of which the MC announced Vol. 3 in the summer of 2020. In the same year he was also heard on the track Hustle Don't Give by Apollo Brown and Che 'Noir.
