Endangered Species (Engl. For endangered species ) is a compilation album of American rapper Big Punisher . It was released on April 3, 2001 on the Loud Records label .

The compilation contains three well-known songs from Big Pun's debut album Capital Punishment ( You Ain't a Killer , Twinz (Deep Cover '98) , Still Not a Player ). It also includes eight guest contributions by the rapper from albums by other artists. The remaining 13 tracks represent previously unpublished material.

Big Pun's rap colleague Fat Joe and Sean Cane served as executive producers on the album. In addition, many other music producers were involved in the production of the selected songs, including Dr. Dre , Irv Gotti , The Beatnuts , Swizz Beatz , The Alchemist , Darkchild , Poke & Tone , DJ Clue and K-Cut .

Cover design

The album cover shows Big Pun wearing a black hat that covers his eyes in shadow. The background is in orange tones. In the lower part of the picture there is the word Big Pun in large orange letters and below that the title Endangered Species in white.

In addition to Big Pun, 17 of the 24 tracks feature other artists, including his crewmates from the Terror Squad ; Fat Joe (who has eight guest appearances), Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link , Remy Ma , Armageddon, Prospect and Triple Seis. Singer Joe is on the song Still Not a Player and singer Ashanti sings the chorus of How We Roll . Other guest contributions come from the rappers The Beatnuts , Noreaga , Jadakiss , Styles P. , Nature, Cam'ron , Nas , Raekwon , Sheik , Kool G Rap and B-Real . There is also a remix of the track Top of the World with the singer Brandy on the album and the singer Ricky Martin can be heard in the piece Livin 'La Vida Loca (remix) . Big Pun's children and singer Veronica sing the chorus of How We Roll '98 .
