The Punkles were a punk rock band founded in Hamburg in 1998 and were originally a side project of the Prollhead group . As Joey Lennon , Sid McCartney , Dee Dee Harrison and Markey Starkey , they played Beatles songs in the Ramones punk sound . Their outward appearance was a mixture of the Beatles during the "Beatlemania" phase and a punk band. The band was particularly successful in England , where they toured several times and even made two guest appearances at the Cavern Club in Liverpool , and in Japan , where they landed in the top 50 of the music charts with two albums .
