The Royals (born March 6, 1989 in Berlin , bourgeois Mohamad "Hamudi" Hoteit ) is a German music producer and songwriter from Berlin who specializes in hip-hop and dancehall . He worked with nationally known performers such as RAF Camora , Prinz Pi , 187 Strassenbande , Bonez MC , Maxwell , Kontra K and Mudi . His work has been awarded several gold and platinum plates.

life and career

Hamudi was born in Berlin as the fourth son of Lebanese parents who fled to Germany due to the civil war in the mid-1980s. He grew up in Berlin-Schöneberg and came into contact with music at an early age. At the age of five he began to play the piano and at the age of 14 he was already producing his first beats, which at that time were made in the children's room with a mouse and keyboard. His passion quickly developed in the direction of German hip hop and assumed professional proportions.

In 2007 Hamudi founded "The Royals" as a producer team with his two brothers and a cousin. Shortly thereafter, the German rapper Prinz Pi became aware of them, whereupon "The Royals" entered into the first professional production with him. In the same year, the production team got an exclusive author contract with BMG Rights Management and produced Prince Pi's album “Zeitlos” (2007). "The Royals" continued to be successful, but different interests arose in the team. Two of the producers eventually parted ways with "The Royals". Hamudi remained as the sole producer. He continues to receive support from his brother Wassif (bourgeois Wassif Hoteit, born May 18, 1986 in Berlin), who acts as a manager.

In 2010 Hamudi met the hip-hop musician RAF Camora (bourgeois Raphael Ragucci, born June 4, 1984 in Vevey, Switzerland). This was followed by a collaboration for the album “Therapy after the Album”, which resulted in a close friendship between RAF Camora and Hamudi. Hamudi entered into another cooperation with him and, in addition to working as a producer, also worked for RAF Camora's label " Indipendeza " in the area of ​​label management.

In 2014 Hamudi signed a new author's exclusive contract with the publisher "Edition Indipendeza Berlin / BMG Rights Management" from RAF Camora and Ronny Boldt. He is still under contract there as "The Royals".

Hamudi has since worked with nationally known performers such as RAF Camora , Mudi , Bonez MC , 187 Strassenbande , GZUZ , Maxwell , Prinz Pi , Kontra K , Azet , Zuna , KMN Gang , Massiv , Joshi Mizu , Chakuza , Sierra Kidd , KIZ and many more together.

Many of these productions reached the German album charts and were awarded several gold and platinum records.
