action

Belio, a messenger of the devil, fathered a son with a witch, Morak (in the original: Walat), who is intended to lead the people to perdition, which is why he is to ascend the fire throne of King Argos. He grows up; his people kill the king. In order to get to the throne, however, he has to marry Valkari (in the original: Brunilde), the princess. This flees, however, Morak's people are murdering and pillaging after her, which is why Siegfried (in the original Thor), an invulnerable and strong fighter, fights on the side of the princess.

Moraks captured Siegfried several times; every time he manages to escape again. Siegfried can fight his way through to Morak against all odds and force him to the throne in a duel, which devours the villain with flames.

criticism

“The audacity with which the producers of this lousy plotted colored ham put fight scenes from The Barbarian Sword in front of us for minutes shows what kind of spirit they consider their consumers to be,” write Ronald M. Hahn / Volker Jansen, Norbert Stresau in their lexicon des Fantasy films , which the colleagues from the lexicon of international film confirm: "Primitively cobbled together fantasy film that cannibalizes the flimsy plot for a rather speculative collection of cheap scenes of violence and horror interludes."

On August 9, 2013, the film was shown as part of the Tele-5 series The Worst Films of All Time .
