Theo Spreter von Kreudenstein

Theo Spreter von Kreudenstein (born March 5, 1908 in Freiburg im Breisgau , † February 26, 1992 in Kiel ) was a German oral surgeon and university professor .

Life

From 1926 Spreter studied dentistry and medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In the 4th generation of his family he was active in the Corps Suevia Freiburg . As an inactive , he moved to the University of Innsbruck , the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University in Berlin , the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel and the Medical Academy in Düsseldorf . In 1932 he made the medical and 1933 the dental state examination. He received his doctorate as Dr. med. (1933) and Dr. med. dent. (1935).

In 1934 he went to the Charité , where he worked as an assistant to Georg Axhausen and Eugen Wannenmacher . In 1939 he qualified as a professor for oral surgery and dentistry. During the Second World War he was a reserve officer in charge of the air force hospital in Braunschweig . In the post-war period he was a private dentist and head of oral surgery in Braunschweig. In 1947 he became head of the department for dental conservation at the ZMK University Clinic in Kiel. The CAU appointed him in 1948 to associate professor and in 1960 professor . As director , he ran the Clinic for Dental, Oral and Jaw Diseases. The medical faculty elected him dean in 1963 . After his retirement (1976) he dealt with family history.

Since 1939 he was married to Paula Freiin von Erffa from Angermünde . The marriage resulted in a daughter and three sons. Hermann became an ENT doctor , Peter became a pediatrician and Burkhart became a neuropediatrist .
