Theodor Erasmus Engelmann

Theodor Erasmus Engelmann (born October 23, 1805 in Münstermaifeld , † July 10, 1862 in Minden ) was a German politician .

Life

Born the son of a domain inspector, Engelmann studied law in Heidelberg , Berlin and Bonn after attending grammar school in Koblenz . During his studies he became a member of the Germania Bonn fraternity in 1825 . After his exams he became an auscultator at the Arnsberg Court and in 1829 a trainee lawyer with the Arnsberg government . After 1832 Regierungsassessor with the Government of Trier had become, he became in 1835 Government and district administrator in the district of St. Wendel . He ran for the Frankfurt National Assembly and was a deputy member of the Prussian National Assembly in Berlin. Because of his democratic attitude, he was recalled as a member of the government and transferred to Stralsund in 1850 . In 1852 he became a councilor in the Minden government.

He was the cousin of Theodor Engelmann .
