Theodor Friedrich Knyn

Theodor Friedrich Knyn (born August 5, 1801 in Mainz , † November 20, 1877 there ) was a German lawyer.

Life

After attending the Philippinum Weilburg grammar school , Theodor Friedrich Knyn studied law at the universities of Gießen , Bonn and Heidelberg . During his studies in 1819 he became a member of the Gießen General Burschenschaft Germania . On May 15, 1820 he was one of the founders of the Corps Rhenania Bonn . After graduation and the doctorate to Dr. jur. In 1831 he became first substitute at the state procurator at the Grand Ducal District Court in Mainz. In 1833 he became state procurator. Knyn was a political railroad pioneer in the 1830s. From May 3rd to 9th, 1849 he was Reich Commissioner of the Provisional Central Authority for the casino in Homburg in order to enforce the casino ban of the Frankfurt National Assembly by way of Reich execution with a force of 700 men . In 1849 he became vice president and in 1857 president of the higher court of the province of Rheinhessen of the Grand Duchy of Hesse (the district or district court of Mainz ). In 1850 he represented Mainz in the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .

Knyn was married to Anna Maria Schulz. His daughter Maria Theodora was married to the Prussian Lieutenant General August von Weber . The Hessian lawyer and politician Friedrich Theodor Langen was his cousin.
