Theodor Graedler

Theodor Grädler (born September 5, 1921 in Landshut ) is a German film , theater and television director , actor and author .

Life

Theodor Grädler had completed an agricultural apprenticeship and took acting lessons. The 17-year-old made his debut as an actor at the Ingolstadt City Theater as early as 1938 . During the war he was part of the ensemble of the Münchner Volkstheater under the direction of Willem Holsboer , although he was drafted all the time . In 1947 he was the first stage director for the play Johannisfeuer . For a while he was also co-operator of the theater in Straubing . In 1949 he worked as an actor and director in Vienna . From 1955 he also took part in the development of Austrian television. Since 1960 Grädler has been a freelancer for Austrian and German television.

From 1955 he mainly worked as a director , his initial activity as a screenwriter moved more and more into the background in favor of directing. With an episode of Das Kriminalmuseum , he staged his first television crime story in 1964. Numerous other crime film series such as Der Kommissar , Derrick and Der Alte were to follow.

Theodor Grädler has a son.
