Theresa Nelles

Theresa Nelles (* 1982 in Cologne ) is a German opera , oratorio , lied and concert singer ( soprano ).

Life

Theresa Nelles began her musical training at the age of six in the Cologne Cathedral Singing School under cathedral music director Eberhard Metternich . During her long-standing choir membership in the girls' choir at Cologne Cathedral under Oliver Sperling , she received her first solo tasks. In addition, her interest in jazz led her to a jazz band. After graduating from high school, she studied classical singing at the Cologne University of Music with Mechthild Georg and in Rome at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia. She also completed master classes a. a. with Krisztina Laki , Kurt Widmer , Ingeborg Danz and continues to work closely with Michaela Krämer in Düsseldorf.

Engagements have taken the singer at home and abroad, e.g. B. to the Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra to Rome and Loreto, to Sicily, South Tyrol, Russia, France, Switzerland, to the International Handel Festival in Göttingen , to the Beethoven Festival in Bonn, to the Brühl Castle Concerts , to the Cologne Philharmonic , in the Tonhalle Düsseldorf , to opera houses like Krefeld / Mönchengladbach, Koblenz, Gelsenkirchen, to the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth and to the Cologne Cathedral , the Grossmünster in Zurich, the Königsberg Cathedral , the Altenberg Cathedral , the Brauweiler Abbey or the Schäftlarn Monastery . The soprano worked a. a. with the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen , the Bochumer Sinfoniker , the WDR Funkhausorchester , the Gürzenichorchester Köln , BonnBarock, Musica Alta Ripa , Concerto Köln , Concert Royal Köln .

Also in the new music Theresa Nelles is frequently manifested itself, among them world premieres dedicated to her by Markus Schönewolf songs in pictures, the opera Abraham or the oratorio logos of the Swiss composer Daniel Schnyder .
