Thilo Kuntz

Thilo Kuntz (* 1977 ) is a German lawyer and university professor at the Bucerius Law School .

Life

From 1996 to 1999, Kuntz initially trained as a legal clerk . He completed his law studies at the University of Giessen , where he passed his first state examination in 2003. He then did his legal clerkship at the regional court in Giessen , which he completed in 2006 with the second state examination. This was followed by studies at the University of Chicago Law School , from which he graduated in 2007 with the title Master of Laws . After his return to Germany, Kuntz worked as a research assistant for Jens Ekkenga at the University of Giessen. There he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD. He then worked as aTemporary academic advice until he completed his habilitation in 2014. His habilitation thesis was awarded the University Prize of the German Stock Institute and the Dr. Herbert Stolzenberg Prize of the University of Giessen.

This was followed by professorships at the universities of Konstanz and Bremen . In Bremen he has held the full professorship for civil law, commercial and company law, and legal theory since 2015. Since October 2017 he has also been a judge in the second main office at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Bremen . On April 1, 2018, he accepted an offer at the Bucerius Law School .
