Michael Fehling

Michael Fehling (born June 16, 1963 in Bremen ) is a legal scholar and has held the chair for public law with comparative law at the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg since 2001 .

He studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau , passed the first state examination in 1988 and the second state examination in 1991 .

In 1993 Michael Fehling received his doctorate with a thesis on the subject of "The competitor lawsuit in the licensing of private broadcasters ". In 1996 he received an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley. The habilitation followed in 2000 with a thesis on "Administration between impartiality and design task". Until 1995 he was a research assistant at Martin Bullinger's chair , and until 2000 with Thomas Würtenberger .

From 2000 to 2001 Michael Fehling taught at the University of Freiburg. In 2001 he accepted a position at the Bucerius Law School.

Michael Fehling's research focuses on public commercial law , university law , and comparative law and economic analysis of public law.

Michael Fehling played in the German Federal Chess League , the highest German division, in the 1981/82 season for the Düsseldorf SG Rochade and in the 1987/88 season for the SK Zähringen . From 1991 to 2002 he was active with the Freiburg Chess Friends 1887 , and since then with the Hamburg Chess Club .
