As far as possible and customary, SI units are used. Unless otherwise noted, the data given apply to standard conditions . |
Thiothionyl fluoride is a chemical compound between fluorine and sulfur and is isomeric to difluorodisulfane .
Extraction and presentation
Thiothionyl fluoride can be obtained by reacting disulfur dichloride with potassium fluoride at around 150 ° C or mercury (II) fluoride at 20 ° C.
It is also possible to display it by reacting nitrogen trifluoride with sulfur.
It is also formed from difluorodisulfane when it comes into contact with alkali fluorides.
properties
Thiothionyl fluoride is a colorless gas. It converts into sulfur tetrafluoride and sulfur at higher temperatures and pressures .
With hydrogen fluoride , it is converted to sulfur tetrafluoride and hydrogen sulfide .
