Thom Puckey

Thom Puckey (born May 23, 1948 in Bexleyheath ) is an English- Dutch performance artist and sculptor .

life and work

Thom Puckey was born in 1948 as Thom as William Puckey in the greater London area, where he did a bachelor's degree at the Slade School of Fine Art and then a master's degree at the Royal College of Art .

From 1972 to 1982 Thom Puckey formed the performance duo Reindeer Werk / Rentier Arbeit together with Dirk Larsen .

In 1978 Puckey moved to Amsterdam to live and work. He was a university professor from 1984 to 1987 at the Academie Minerva in Groningen , from 1985 to 1989 at the AKI (Academy for Art and Industry) in Enschede , from 1987 to 1995 at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam and from 1997 at the Akademie voor Kunst en Vormgeving St. Joost in 's-Hertogenbosch .

Numerous works by Puckey have been realized as art in public spaces in various cities in the Netherlands.
