Thomas A. Barron

Thomas Archibald Barron (born March 26, 1952 in Boston ) is an American author. His signature is TAB , whereby according to the author the first two letters stand not only for Thomas Archibald , but also for "The Author".

Life

Barron grew up in Massachusetts and Colorado , and studied philosophy, politics and economics at Princeton and Oxford . He worked as an investment manager in New York City . From 1983 to 1989 he was president of the investment company Prospect Group , before becoming a freelance writer in 1990. Barron lives in Boulder , Colorado with his wife, Currie, and children .

His successful Merlin saga has been translated into many languages. The trilogy The Magic of Avalon is a kind of follow-up series to the Merlin saga, but this trilogy only takes place a long time after the Merlin saga. The main character is no longer Merlin. In October 2010 the third volume of his Merlin's Dragon trilogy was published in English. This trilogy takes place between the Merlin saga and the The Magic of Avalon trilogy. The next book to appear in July 2011 is the picture book Ghost Hands . According to his own statement, this is inspired by a visit to the Patagonia region in South America.

In the fall of 2013, Atlantis Rising , a novel about the making of Atlantis , was published in English. The book is the first part of a new trilogy.

He also serves on several national committees at Princeton University, where he helped found the Princeton Environmental Institute and The Wilderness Society , which honored him with an award for his conservation work.

TA Barron also established an award for social young people, the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes and Metehan . He named the award after his mother Gloria.
