Thomas Armbrüster (economist)

Thomas Armbrüster (* 1968 in Bremen ) is a German economist and university professor .

Life

After graduating from high school , Armbrüster first signed up as a regular soldier in the Bundeswehr . This was followed by a degree in industrial engineering at the Technical University of Berlin . Armbrüster then worked in a management consultancy before receiving his Ph.D. in 1999 from the London School of Economics and Political Science. received his doctorate. This was followed by activities at the University of Reading , Stanford University and the University of Mannheim , among others , before Armbrüster completed his habilitation at the TU Berlin in 2005 .

From 2005 to 2008 Armbrüster held the chair for general business administration at the Witten Institute for Family Business at the University of Witten / Herdecke , and from 2007 to 2008 he was Dean of the Faculty of Economics. From 2008 to 2009 he held the office of President and Managing Director of the German Graduate School of Management and Law in Heilbronn , before moving to the Department of Management and Economics at Quadriga University Berlin in 2010 , to the Professorship for Strategy and Personnel Management . Armbrüster has been active as a management trainer since 2005, especially in the area of ​​leadership. He is a partner in Prof. Armbrüster Leadership Services GmbH . Armbrüster was also a management trainer at the Munich Executive Institute . Armbrüster received the Academy of Management Best Paper Award in 2001 and 2004 .

Since 2006 he has been Adjunct Faculty in the area of ​​Organizational Behavior and Leadership at the Mannheim Business School . From the beginning of 2012 to the end of 2014 he held the chair for strategic management at the political science faculty of the University of Erfurt . He also taught there at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy , which is part of the faculty . Since 2015 he has held the professorship for knowledge management at the Philipps University of Marburg .

Research priorities

Armbrüster's research focuses on the areas of personnel management, personnel management , leadership and business consulting .
