Thomas Battenstein (born February 18, 1951 in Düsseldorf ) is a German guitarist and music producer .

Live and act

Battenstein started playing the guitar at the age of 16. While studying graphic design and as a student at an art academy , the musical ambitions became so great that six years of classical guitar lessons followed. Battenstein has been a professional musician and guitar teacher since 1976 .

In 1974 the political rock band MEK BILK was founded, with which Battenstein played together until 1979 (approx. 250 live performances nationwide) and recorded an album. From 1980 to 1986 Battenstein played mainstream pop rock in the broadest sense with the formation NOX NOX. The group completed around 200 appearances, including as a live band on the ARD programs WWF Club , Plattenküche , Bananas and Kangaroo , a weekly program with Hape Kerkeling . In 1986 the band broke up.

In 1991 his TOMTE MUSIC publishing label was founded. Under this label , Battenstein realized a total of 20 productions and publications by 2017, mainly in the field of instrumental guitar music between rock, Latin and jazz. The first work, Silent Night , an album with Christmas music, has already been sold in seven editions together with the accompanying book.

In 2014 Battenstein released "My Christmas Grooves" with 20 national and international Christmas classics and two original compositions. In September 2017 he added the follow-up work "My Christmas Grooves Again" - also with 20 national and international Christmas classics and two original compositions. To date, 18 albums have been released. In addition, collections of music for guitar have been written and published.

In addition to his music albums, in 1998 Battenstein also produced the official music for the boarding videos for the LTU airline , which has since been taken over by Air Berlin . In addition, Battenstein privately teaches various styles of popular music such as rock , Latin and jazz .
