Thomas Bormolini (born August 29, 1991 in Sondalo , Lombardy ) is an Italian biathlete .

Career

Thomas Bormolini starts for CS Esercito and has been part of the Italian national team since 2008. He is a three-time Italian junior champion. Bormolini competed in his first international junior race as part of the IBU Cup . In 2010 he played his first international championship, the Biathlon Junior World Championships, in Torsby and was 25th in the sprint and 20th in the pursuit and ninth in the relay. Two years later in Kontiolahti place 27 in the individual was the best result.

Bormolini contested his first men's races in 2012 in Ridanna , where he was 65th in a sprint race. He won his first points later in the season as 39th in a sprint in Martell . At the start of the 2014/15 season , he achieved 14th place in a sprint in Beitostølen, his best placement in the second highest racing series in international biathlon. The first international men 's championship was the 2014 European Biathlon Championships in Nové Město na Moravě . In the individual he was 31st, in the sprint 40th, in the pursuit race 42nd and with Thierry Chenal , Giuseppe Montello and Pietro Dutto relay tenth. At the start of the 2014/15 season , Bormolini started in the Biathlon World Cup for the first time . At the singles in Östersund he immediately won World Cup points as 19th.
