Thomas Brandt (* 1991 in Bremen ) is a German actor .

Life

Thomas Brandt grew up with German and Czech as mother tongues. After his first theater production, he first worked as a lobster fisherman in Canada . He gained his first stage experience at the Th'Yarc Playhouse and Arts Center, in Yarmouth (Canada) and at the Theaterkontor Bremen. He then worked as a musician in his hometown of Bremen.

He completed his acting studies from 2012 to 2016 at the "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" University of Music and Theater in Leipzig . As part of his training, he was a member of the drama studio in Cologne. In Cologne he played a. a. Georg von Waldstätten in Das Käthchen von Heilbronn (director: Stefan Bachmann ) and the shepherd Silvius in As You Like It (director: Roger Vontobel ). In the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Köln . In the 2017/18 season he took on Romeo alongside Kristin Steffen (Juliet), Simon Kirsch (Mercutio) and Nikolaus Benda (Tybalt) in a new production of Shakespeare's love tragedy Romeo and Juliet , directed by Pinar Karabulut . At the theater, he also worked with the directors Simon Solberg , Charlotte Sprenger , Rafael Sanchez , Jan Neumann , Moritz Sostmann , Thomas Jonigk and Armin Petras .

Brandt has also appeared in front of the camera in several cinema and TV productions. In Andreas Dresen's film adaptation of the novel As Wir Träumten (2015), he played a bald neo-Nazi with Julius Nitschkoff as a counterpart . In the 5th season of the ZDF television series Heldt (2017), he had, alongside Kai Schumann and Hansjürgen Hürrig , an episode role as prison officer Volker Noack. In the 20th season of the ZDF series SOKO Leipzig (2019), he played the hit man Mike Borken, who wants to use the reward to go abroad with his ex-girlfriend and son.

Thomas Brandt lives in Cologne .
