Thomas Jonigk

Thomas Jonigk (born March 4, 1966 in Eckernförde ) is a German writer and dramaturge .

Life

Thomas Jonigk studied Medieval Studies , Modern German Literature and Theater Studies at the Free University of Berlin . In 1992 Jonigk was one of the co-founders of the Theater Affekt production group .

Jonigk works as a director at the Volksbühne Berlin , the Wiener Schauspielhaus , the Lucerne Theater and the Schauspielhaus Zurich . 2006–2011 he was engaged as a resident author, dramaturge and head of the authors' laboratory at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . From April 2009 to June 2013 he was in-house author and dramaturge at the Schauspielhaus Zurich. Jonigk currently lives and works in Munich.

Jonigk's plays have been translated many times and have been performed in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, England, Russia, Poland, Spain, Scandinavia, Turkey, the Philippines, India and the USA.
