Thomas Friedlaender
Thomas Friedlaender (* 1966 in Magdeburg ) is a German musician ( natural trumpet , zinc , trombone , percussion ) who has emerged in both early music and improvisational music.
Life
As a child, Friedlaender learned percussion instruments as an autodidact . Then he played the trumpet . He first studied modern trumpet at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden , and then worked in various orchestras.
He also dealt with jazz , free improvisation, electronic music and percussion. Since 1990 he discovered the early modern wind culture for zinc and trumpet. He studied zinc and historical improvisation at the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig , then in Basel at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Bruce Dickey , Edward H. Tarr and Jean-François Madeuf , and later with William Dongois . He also took private percussion lessons and attended courses with Günter Baby Sommer , Glen Velez , Marko Lackner , Conny Bauer and Markus Stockhausen .
Friedländer founded various chamber music ensembles with which he performed over 20 programs of solo chamber music from different epochs and regions; In some programs he built a bridge to the music of the Orient and sounds of the present.
