Thomas Klosterkamp

Thomas Klosterkamp OMI (* 1965 in Hückelhoven -Brachelen) is a Catholic religious priest .

Life

Thomas Klosterkamp joined the Community of Missionary Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (OMI) in 1987 . He completed his novitiate in the Boniface monastery in Hünfeld . He studied philosophy and theology in Mainz , Lyon and Rome . In 1994 he was ordained a priest. He then worked in parish and school pastoral care in Munich and Zwickau . In 2000 he became the novice master of the Oblates. At the same time, between 2000 and 2003, he was editor and editor of the homiletic journal “God's Word in the Church Year”.

In 2002 he received his doctorate in church history from the Catholic theological faculty of the University of Erfurt . From 2004 to 2013 he taught church history at the Catholic University in Mainz .

From 2007 to 2013 he was the first Provincial of the Central European Province of Oblates ( Germany , Austria and the Czech Republic ), which emerged from the German Province and which he headed from 2003 to 2007. The seat of the Provincial Council was the Oblate Monastery in Mainz. In addition, Father Klosterkamp was a member of the board of directors of the Conference of German Ordensobernkonferenz from 2007 to 2013 . Here he was responsible for the area of ​​"education and upbringing".

Between 2013 and 2019 Father Klosterkamp worked as postulator general for beatifications and canonizations in Rome. At the same time he was Superior of the General House of the Oblates in Rome. P. Klosterkamp has been living in the Mariengarden Oblate Monastery in Burlo since 2019 . He holds the office of Provincial Archivist of the Central European Province of the Oblates.
