Thomas Spoonwood
Thomasöffelholz (born November 7, 1932 in Wiesbaden ; † March 15, 2018 in Königswinter ) was a German journalist .
Life
His father Joseföffelholz (1902–1999) was a business economist, academic writer and employee at the ZfB .
After graduating from high school in Aschaffenburg in 1949 , he studied law (state examination 1953) and economics (diploma 1957) in Marburg. 1954/55 he studied at Wisconsin State University . With a thesis on "The Legal Philosophy of Pragmatism" ,öffelholz was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD .
In 1959 he joined the business editorial team of the Stuttgarter Zeitung , for which he reported from Brussels as an EEC and later NATO correspondent from 1964 . From 1973 he headed the Bonn office of the Stuttgarter Zeitung and was chairman of the German Press Club from 1982 to April 1983 . He had to give up this chair when his newspaper appointed him to Stuttgart as the new editor-in-chief .
In 1995 ,öffelholz changed to the daily newspaper Die Welt as publisher and editor-in-chief ; In 1998 he retired.
After a positive comment on the crucifix judgment appeared shortly after taking office in the world , the then major Springer shareholder Leo Kirch publicly demanded the recall of spoon wood, which Axel Springer Verlag refused.
