Thomas Mackeprang Mogensen (born January 30, 1983 in Odder , Denmark ) is a Danish handball player . He is 1.87 m tall and weighs 98 kg.

Career

Thomas Mogensen began playing handball at the Odder IGF in his hometown of Odder . In 2002 the first division club Viborg HK signed him, where he drew attention to himself, so that after only one year he moved on to the top club GOG Svendborg TGI . There he was Danish Cup winner in 2005 and, as the highlight, Danish champion in 2007. In 2007 Mogensen moved to the German handball league for SG Flensburg-Handewitt, where he succeeded his compatriot Joachim Boldsen . Mogensen was voted Denmark's Player of the Year in 2007. In 2012 he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with SG Flensburg-Handewitt , the EHF Champions League in 2014 , the DHB Cup in 2015 and the German championship in 2018. For the 2018/19 season he moved to the Danish first division club Skjern Håndbold . He has been under contract with SønderjyskE since summer 2020 .

Thomas Mogensen played 106 international matches for the Danish national team . In 2012 he won the European Championship in Serbia with the Danish national team . With the Danish U17 national team, he won silver at the 2001 European Junior Championships. In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London . At the 2014 European Championships in his own country, he was runner-up in Europe. In May 2014 he announced his resignation from the national team.
