Thomas Oelmayer (born September 22, 1954 in Ulm ) was a member of the state parliament of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Baden-Württemberg from April 1996 to April 2011 .

After training as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant and obtaining the technical college entrance qualification , he studied business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Pforzheim until 1980 . This was followed by studying law in Tübingen . He passed the first state examination in 1985, the assessor examination followed in 1988. Since then he has been working as a lawyer in his hometown of Ulm. Since January 2016 he has been running his law firm together with the BWIHK and Ulm Chamber of Commerce President Peter Kulitz .

Between 1979 and 1982 he was a member of the district board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Ulm / Alb-Donau-Kreis / Neu-Ulm and again from 1990 to 1994. From 1980 to 1989 he held the office of city council of the city of Ulm.

Since April 15, 1996 he was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament, from which he resigned in spring 2011 because he did not want to run for a fourth legislative term at his own request. He always entered the state parliament with a second mandate in constituency 64 - Ulm . His lead over the first unelected candidate from Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the Tübingen administrative region was less than 50 votes in all three state elections in 1996, 2001 and 2006. His priorities in the state parliament were domestic politics, administrative reform and justice.

In the 2009 federal election , Oelmayer ran as a direct candidate for the Greens in the constituency of Biberach .

Thomas Oelmayer is non-denominational , married and has six children. He lives in Ulm.
