Thorsten Sievert

Thorsten Sievert (* 1968 in Hamburg ) is a TV producer and director as well as a coach for speakers and speakers. He is the winner of the German Comedy Prize 2013 .

After training as a banker and studying German in Hamburg, he took on directing duties in independent theater productions and for cabaret and comedy productions. He founded u. a. the cabaret group "Die Seifenretter" and "Die Schöne Abend Show" and directed the cabaret theater "Die Kugelblitze". In 1995, he and Ulrich Waller initiated the “Gipfelstürmer” evening for young people at the Hamburg cabaret festival. Since 1997 he has been leading coaching and workshops for comedians.

From 1998 to 1999 Sievert worked for Schwartzkopff TV Productions . In 2000 he worked for the Cologne Comedy Festival and produced the Cologne Comedy Gala and the German Comedy Award . From 2001 to 2002 he worked for Brainpool TV and produced “ Die Wochenshow ”.

Sievert worked from 2003 to 2006 as a freelance executive producer for various production companies (including Eyeworks , Aspect Telefilm , Constantin Entertainment , Blondheim TV ) and produced, among others, Mittermeier's Saturday Nightlife , “ Quatsch Comedy Club ”. From 2006 to 2007 he set up the Comedy Central station as channel manager . From 2008 he headed Endemol's comedy department as executive producer .

Sievert has been working as a freelance executive producer since 2009 and has been operating as smile! producing . His field of activity includes production, development, artist acquisition and pitches for many German-speaking TV stations.

Well-known projects include “Is it still possible ?! - Kaya's week ”,“ Olaf improves the world ”,“ The StandUpMigranten ”,“ Jürgen von der Lippe: This is how it works ”,“ The RTL Comedy Grand Prix ”,“ The show of the year with Cindy from Marzahn ”,“ The Comedy Olymp ”,“ Dennis and Jesko - The Sketch Comedy Show ”,“ Vurschrift is Vurschrift ”,“ Die Comedy Grenzgänger ”,“ Genial Daneben ”,“ Is he allowed to do that? - The Chris Tall Show ”.

In addition to the comedy sector, he also works as a lecturer and coach in speaker and speaker training.

He also directed the live programs of Sebastian Reich , the Kommissar Kluftinger authors Klüpfel / Kobr and the Fischer & Jung Theater (“Outside Inside 20, Outside Rancid”).

Since 2017 Thorsten Sievert has been curator of the comedy competition “The freedom of laughter” at the Salzburg State Theater .
