International Cologne Comedy Festival

The International Cologne Comedy Festival has been held annually since 1991 at different venues with changing artists .

Initially started as the Cologne Comedy Festival , then continued in 1993 as the International Cologne Comedy Festival . Since 1992 there has been a television gala at the end of the series of events (initially broadcast by Premiere and WDR , the comedy gala has been broadcast by RTL since 1997 ). The German Comedy Prize has been awarded at the gala since 1997 . The categories of the German Comedy Award are: best sketch show , best comedy show , best actress (in a comedy series), best actor (in a comedy series), best newcomer , best comedian , best comedian , best comedy film (national), best live comedy and the honorary award . From 1998 to the end of 2002 there was also a Cologne Comedy School to promote young comedy talent .

Venues for the individual comedy events include: a. the Kölner Philharmonie , the Schauspielhaus Köln , the Coloneum , the KulturKirche Köln , Lanxess Arena , Senftöpfchen -Theater , Volkstheater Millowitsch , Theater am Tanzbrunnen , Alter Wartesaal and the Gloria-Theater .
