Jess Jochimsen
Jess Jochimsen (born July 16, 1970 in Munich ) is a German cabaret artist and author .
Life
Jess Jochimsen studied German , political science and philosophy . Since 1995 he has been touring as a freelance comedian on German-speaking cabaret theaters and works for radio and other media. Numerous television appearances and a. at the windshield wiper , the Quatsch Comedy Club and on RTL Saturday Night made him known nationwide. In his adopted home Freiburg, he has a regular newspaper column.
Since October 2000 Jochimsen has hosted the WDR radio program “ Die Vorleser ”, a kind of “festival of literary comedy”. Six times a year, three invited live writers perform on a theater stage (mostly the “ Pantheon ” in Bonn) lustful and crazy, always textual material from their own pen. The whole thing is called “ stand-up poetry ” because the concept is borrowed from the Anglo-American world of post-hiphop. Jochimsen also had a weekly listening column in the " U-Punkt " series on WDR 2 .
Jess Jochimsen lives in Freiburg im Breisgau . The Swamp Poetry lecture series in the Freiburg pub Swamp has now been discontinued.
In 2011, his one-person piece And outside, it blooms you, premiered in the Rampe theater in Stuttgart. Director: Eva Hosemann. It was published in book form in 2011 under the title What should people think .
On March 22, 2012, the film based on Jess Jochimsen's novel Bellboy or: I Owe Paul a summer- based film Was weg is, is weg in the cinemas. Script and direction: Christian Lerch (co-author of Who dies earlier, is longer dead ).
In his stage program Today closed for yesterday (2017) he combines texts, music and slides from his books.
