Tibor Brouwer

Tibor Brouwer (born June 19, 1985 in Stuttgart ) is a German opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Brouwer received singing lessons from Dunja Vejzovic at an early age . From 2005 to 2010 he studied singing at the Karlsruhe University of Music with Donald Litaker and was a scholarship holder of the Hilde Zadek Foundation. He also attended song classes with Hartmut Höll and Mitsuko Shirai . He completed his studies in 2010 with a singing diploma.

During his studies he made guest appearances in the 2006/07 season at the Pforzheim Theater (as Flanders' deputy in Don Carlos ) and later at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe . In 2009 Brouwer made his debut there in a gala performance by Andrea Chénier as Pietro Fléville at the side of José Cura . He became a member of the Karlsruhe Opera Studio, where he sang other small and medium-sized roles until 2011. a. in Le nozze di Figaro , Il barbiere di Siviglia , Fidelio , The Greek Passion or Death in Venice . As part of a lieder recital at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, he performed Mahler's songs from a traveling companion together with the lied pianist Matthias Alteheld .

In 2008 he was a guest at the Bayreuth Baroque Festival in Rameau's opera Les Fêtes d'Hébé . In 2009 he was a guest at the Salzburg Festival and at the Stuttgart State Theater with the production Judith , a collage of texts by Friedrich Hebbel and music by Antonio Vivaldi and Lars Wittershagen , with the participation of the performance artist Anne Tismer and directed by Sebastian Nübling . In 2008 and 2010 he appeared as a soloist at the Bad Orb Opera Academy , in 2008 as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte and in 2010 with the title role in Don Giovanni .

As Don Giovanni he made his first guest appearance at the Pasinger Fabrik in 2011 . In 2012 he sang Scarpia in Tosca there , and in 2013 he sang Herr Fluth in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor . From June to August 2016 he appeared again at the Pasinger Fabrik, this time as Agamemnon in the operetta production Die Schöne Helena , directed by Marcus Everding .

In March 2015 Brouwer sang the role of Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana in a production of the Haugesund Chamber Opera at the Høvleriet Haugesund Concert Hall in Norway . In July / August 2015 Brouwer sang the role of Silvio in Leoncavallo's opera Pagliacci at the Opern Air Festival Nürtingen.

In the 2014/15 season he took on the role of Bassa Selim in Mozart's singspiel Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Free State Theater of Bavaria . In this role he also appeared in the resumption of production in the 2015/16 season. In March 2016 he took on the role of Ottokar in the opera Der Freischütz in a production of the Free State Theater Bavaria . He also sang this role in the 2016/17 season. In the 2016/17 season Brouwer also appeared as Don Giovanni at the Theater für Niedersachsen .

Tibor Brouwer also sang in houses such as the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden , the Margravial Opera House , the Mannheim National Theater , the Pernerinsel in Hallein , the Ingolstadt Theater (2014/15 season, in the world premiere of the children's opera "The story of the fox who lost his mind") ), the Liederhalle Stuttgart , the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart, Gasteig Munich , and worked with orchestras and ensembles such as the Ensemble Baroque L'Orfeo Bordeaux, Il Gusto Barocco Stuttgart, Les Favorites Rastatt, Capella Triumphans, United Continuo Ensemble, the Thuringia Philharmonic Gotha and of the Baden-Baden Philharmonic. He also took part in CD and radio recordings.
