Tigbao is a Filipino municipality in the province of Zamboanga del Sur on the island of Mindanao . It has 20,979 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 18 barangays .
The community is located about 32 km west of the center of the provincial capital Pagadian City and can be reached via the Maharlika Highway . The 1,152 meter high Mount Timolan rises in the municipal area and at its foot lies the Maragang Lake, both of which are part of the Mount Timolan Protected Landscape .
