Tim Alexander (special effects artist)

Tim Alexander (born before 1993) is a VFX supervisor who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2014 with Lone Ranger .

Life

He studied electrical engineering , theater lighting and set design at Cornell University . In the summer of 1992, he interned with the special effects division of Disney's Buena Vista . From 1993, after graduating, he worked there on films such as Operation Dumbo , The Phantom and James and the Giant Peach .

In 1996 he moved to Industrial Light & Magic , where he worked on Star Trek: First Contact as the first film . Films like Contact , Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire followed in the following years . In 2014, along with Gary Brozenich , Edson Williams and John Frazier, he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects for the film Lone Ranger .
