Timo Antila (born September 22, 1980 in Jurva ) is a former Finnish biathlete .

Timo Antila started at the Junior World Championships in Jericho in 1998 , a year later in Pokljuka and 2000 in Hochfilzen . He achieved best placements in 2000 as seventh in the sprint and fourth in the relay. He also celebrated his debut in the biathlon World Cup in 2000 at the penultimate World Cup station in Lahti . In his first race, an individual, he was 35. Antila also competed regularly in the World Cup the next season. The highlight of the season was his first participation in the biathlon world championships , in which he should always take part from now on. In Pokljuka he competed in the individual (36th) and in the pursuit (43rd). With the relay of the three best Finnish biathletes of the last ten years, Paavo Puurunen , Vesa Hietalahti and Ville Räikkönen , he even came in fifth. Shortly afterwards he won World Cup points for the first time as 27th in the individual in Salt Lake City . The 2001/02 season brought back the greatest successes in Pokljuka. In the individual he reached his second best World Cup result with a 17th place, in the pursuit he came in 26th again in the points and with the relay he was fourth. The high point of his career was the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. The best result was a 19th place in the sprint.

The best World Cup season in Antilas was the 2003/04 season. He was in the top 20 three times. In Ruhpolding he reached sprint 14. his best World Cup result so far. In the overall World Cup he reached a 50th place. The season ended with participation in the military world championships in Östersund . He finished tenth in both the sprint and patrol run. In the summer of 2005, Antila also started at the World Championships in Summer Biathlon in Muonio and finished eighth in the pursuit and fifth in the relay. Between 2001/02 and 2007/08 Antila was placed eight times in a row in the overall ranking of the World Cup. The Finn achieved his best result at a world championship in 2008 in Östersund as 31st in the sprint. Timo Antila took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics. His best result was 40th place in the sprint.

Antila is the son of the Finnish biathlete Erkki Antila and is married to the cross-country skier Kirsi Välimaa .
