Timo Ochs (born October 17, 1981 in Göttingen ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper .

career

His career began with SC Weende , for whom he played until 1996. Then he moved to Hannover 96 , where he did not make the jump to the goalkeeper in the professional squad. He moved to the second division VfL Osnabrück for the 2003/04 season , where he soon took over from Sven Scheuer . Although the team was relegated, for many observers he was one of the best goalkeepers of the second division season, so Osnabrück could not keep him and he moved to TSV 1860 Munich .

There Ochs first sat on the bench and made a few games for the club's second team in the Regionalliga Süd . He even scored a goal with a penalty on matchday 19, 2004/05 in a 4-0 win against FC Nöttingen . In early 2005 he became the goalkeeper at TSV 1860 Munich after an injury to Michael Hofmann . In 2005 he was voted “Lion of the Year” (most popular player) by fans.

In June 2006 Timo Ochs moved to Red Bull Salzburg and was Austrian champion in 2007 and 2009. He was a regular goalkeeper until his injury in December 2008. At the end of the 2008/09 season, the contract with Ochs was not renewed.

In September 2009, Bundesliga club Hertha BSC Ochs signed. He signed a one-year contract and should initially be used for the injured goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobný . On September 27, 2009 he made his debut for Hertha BSC in the away game against TSG Hoffenheim on the 7th matchday of the season. On the 8th matchday, Ochs tore a muscle fiber in the game against Hamburger SV and was replaced in the 33rd minute. At the end of the season he joined Hertha in the second division, received no new contract for the 2010/11 season and was initially without a club.

In November 2010, 1. FC Nürnberg signed him up to the end of the season due to the acute injury situation in the goalkeeper position. However, he only came to ten missions in the Regionalliga team and left Nuremberg at the end of the season to join his former club TSV 1860 Munich , where he was substitute goalkeeper behind Gábor Király . On the 19th matchday of the 2011/12 season , the last one before the winter break, he came to his first use after Kiraly had torn a muscle fiber during training and was therefore out.

On January 23, 2013 Ochs moved within the 2nd division to SSV Jahn Regensburg . He signed a contract until the end of the season.

For the 2013/14 season Ochs moved to the third division 1. FC Saarbrücken . Timo Ochs ended his active professional career in the summer of 2014.
