Timo Preussler

Timo Preußler (born August 14, 1983 in Mutlangen ) is a German sport and competition climber . In 2003 he became German champion in bouldering and in 2005 in difficulty climbing . In 2006 he was the fourth German to win a World Cup in Kuala Lumpur ( Malaysia ) .

Career

Timo Preußler began climbing at the age of eleven, at the age of 13 he was already Baden-Württemberg youth champion, and a year later he also won the national youth championship. In 2003 he won a national adult title for the first time, the German Boulder Cup . After graduating from school, he trained with the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Sonthofen from 2002 . In 2005 he was the only German to make it into the final of the climbing world championship in Munich, which he finished with sixth place, shortly before he had achieved his greatest competition success to date with a second place at the World Cup in Zurich. On November 5, 2005, he won the German championship in Forchheim ahead of Markus Jung and Andreas Bindhammer . At the end of the year he was tenth in the world rankings. In August 2006 he was able to win a world cup in difficulty climbing in Kuala Lumpur . After Guido Köstermeyer , Christoph Finkel and Andreas Bindhammer, Timo Preußler was the fourth German to succeed. In addition, Preußler is active as a trainer for the state youth squad in Baden-Württemberg and as a route screwdriver at competitions.

Preußler has not competed in any more since October 2006. He runs a bouldering hall in Mannheim and is the managing director of an industrial climbing company.
