German boulder cup

The German Boulder Cup is one of the German Alpine Association e. V. (DAV) organized series of bouldering competitions for German boulderers. The respective overall winner of the German Boulder Cup is also the German champion.

history

In 1999 the "DAV Boulder Cup" was the first official competition series for bouldering in Germany. Supported by the DAV, three competitions were always held in the first year. The host locations were Munich, Immenstadt and Cologne in 1999 and Munich, Immenstadt and Frankenthal in 2000 . The host locations were Stuttgart , Berchtesgaden and Kempten in 2001 and Traunstein , Munich and Heilbronn in 2002 . In the first few years after its introduction, the “DAV Salomon Bouldercup”, which was now known as the sponsor Salomon , was traditionally held early in the season, so that the competitions were completed by May at the latest. But in 2006 there was a U-turn: the series was renamed "German Boulder Cup" and the dates were spread over the whole year.
