The large community around Tinglev includes the villages of Broderup ( Brauderup ), Egebæk ( Eggebek ), Kravlund ( Kraulund ), Sofiedal ( Sophienthal ), Stoltelund, Terkelsbøl ( Terkelsbüll ) and Vippel ( Wippel ). The formerly aristocratic manor district of Stoltelund came into the possession of a charitable foundation in Bredstedt , but was incorporated into the rural community of the same name as early as 1871.

Neighboring communities are in the west Burkal and Bylderup, in the north Bjolderup and Uge, in the east Kliplev Sogn ( Klipleff ) and Holbøl Sogn ( Holebüll ) and in the south Bov Sogn ( Bau ) and the German community in Medelby .

history

The geest around Tinglev was sparsely populated in the Middle Ages. Although individual estates and the monastery in Løgumkloster acquired some grit here, most of the municipality remained directly under sovereign administration. Tinglev belonged to the Schlux harde in the Tondern office , one of the largest sovereign districts in the Duchy of Schleswig . Stoltelund was an independent aristocratic estate. After the Duchy of Schleswig was incorporated into the Kingdom of Prussia, the eight rural communities mentioned above became independent, and Gut Stoltelund also initially formed its own municipality as an estate district, but was incorporated into the rural community of the same name as early as 1871. In 1872 the small village of Wippel joined the municipality of Tingleff. From 1889 the parish formed its own administrative district.
