Titanilla Eisenhart

Titanilla Eisenhart , actually Titanilla von Eisenhart-Rothe, née Kraus (born May 27, 1961 in Vienna ) is a freelance Austrian artist in the field of painting, drawing, object and installation . She is known for her large-format “I” pictures and for her “dog paintings”, mostly in matt black. She is also active as a curator and author.

Life

Titanilla Eisenhart is the third of four children of the artist couple Guenther Kraus and Margarethe Herzele . In her childhood she discovered her love for handicrafts and art. Her father introduced her to the techniques of etching , mosaic laying and sculpture at an early age . She attended a school in Vienna and also worked as a model and actress. She studied art history in Rome and later painting and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna . There she graduated with honors. From 1980 she taught at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts Salzburg as assistant to Howard Kanovitz and from 1981 to 1983 at the Vienna Art School . Her works have been shown at exhibitions at home and abroad.

Titanilla Eisenhart has three children and lives in Vienna and in the Carinthian Nock Mountains . Since 2009 she has been exhibiting her own pictures in the Altes Mesnerhaus and also organizing exhibitions by international artists there.

Altes Mesnerhaus Auserteuchen

An exhibition space by the artist Titanilla Eisenhart at 1200 m above sea level in the Carinthian Nock Mountains. The building is a medieval wooden house, the exhibitions take place annually in the summer months. Organization and curator: Titanilla Eisenhart.
