To Aru Majutsu no Index ( Japanese と あ る 魔術 の
action
In the world of To Aru Majutsu no Index both people with supernatural abilities and magic exist. The city of Academy City , in which the student Tōma Kamijō lives, is used to research these skills. Almost all people have special skills and are divided into levels according to their military usability. Level 0 people have almost no special skills; with level 5 strong skills are indicated. Tōma Kamijō himself is classified at level 0, but has the greatly underestimated ability to negate magical and psychic powers with his right hand. This passive ability, called Imagine Breaker , does not give him any attack advantages, so he would have to use his fists to defend himself in close combat.
On a normal school day, Tōma returns to his apartment and there meets the completely exhausted Index hanging on his balcony railing. It turns out that she is a nun of the Church of England and that magical texts of the Index Librorum Prohibitorum were stored in her mind , which the Church wanted to remove from free circulation. Since her head is crammed with so much information and she is a walking library, she has many enemies interested in the knowledge. When Tōma takes her in, he also makes many enemies and from now on has to defend his life and that of Index in a world full of crazy scientific ideas and magic. At the same time, he makes new friends who will support him, and he gradually discovers the secrets of Academy City and Index.
