reception
Oezguer Anil wrote on film.at that the film is not a classic drama, but that it focuses very much on the explosive emotions of the actors and less on a clearly structured plot. Due to the high intensity, there would hardly be a moment to catch your breath, the characters would yell at each other incessantly, which is why it would become difficult over time to get involved in their emotional states. The initially touching moments take on manic excesses, the motivation of which would not be apparent at first glance.
Elli Leeb gave film plus criticism 7 out of 10 points and was quite impressed, but also saw problems: "Despite the use of these“ associative images ”, which are an aesthetic experience, it is difficult to really immerse yourself in the film and get one To find access. So "To the Night" has become a film about despair, hope and failure every day, but which only partially works as the director intended. "
