Tobias Ackermann

Tobias Ackermann OCist (born October 2, 1656 in Neisse , Principality of Neisse ; † December 17, 1722 in Heinrichau , Duchy of Münsterberg ) was abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Heinrichau from 1702 to 1722 and in this capacity at the same time governor of the principality of Münsterberg. From 1703 he was also abbot of Zirc in Hungary and thus a member of the Hungarian parliament .

Life

After attending school, Tobias Ackermann entered the Cistercian monastery Heinrichau as a novice , where he took his religious vows in 1678 . After theological studies he was ordained a priest in 1682 ; In 1697 he was appointed prior .

After the death of Heinrichau abbot Heinrich Kahlert in 1702, Tobias Ackermann was born on April 20 th. J. elected his successor and confirmed and infuled on October 15, 1702 . On March 17, 1703 was in personal union abbot of the monastery Zirc in Hungary. When he was in Pápa that same year as a visitor , he had to flee because of the uprising of Prince Franz II Rákóczi . In his capacity as a member of the Hungarian state parliament, he took part in the coronation of Charles VI in Pressburg in 1712 . to the King of Hungary.

Tobias Ackermann died on December 12, 1722 in Heinrichau; his body was buried in the monastery church.
