Sundarbazar ( Nepali सुन्दरबजार ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Lamjung district in central Nepal .

Sundarbazar is located at the confluence of the Paundi Khola and Marsyangdi rivers, 12 km south-southeast of the district capital, Besisahar . The Middle Marsyangdi HEP hydropower plant is located on the banks of the Marsyangdi .

The city of Sundarbazar was created at the end of 2014 through the merger of the Village Development Committees Bhoteodar , Kunchha , Parewadanda , Sundarbazar and Tarku .

The urban area covers 43.3 km².

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Sundarbazar had 20,475 inhabitants (9030 male) in 5512 households. The population in VDC Sundarbazar was 6715 at that time.
