Rainas ( Nepali राईनास ) is a city ( municipality ) in the southeast of the Lamjung district in central Nepal .

Rainas extends over the hill country east of the Marsyangdi 12 km southeast of the district capital Besisahar .

The city of Rainas was created in September 2015 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Bhalayakharka , Chakratirtha , Dhamilikuwa , Mohoriyakot , Pyarjung and Tarkughat . The city administration is located in the former VDC Mohoriyakot.

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Rainas had 18,527 residents.
