Besisahar (sometimes also Besi Sahar ) is a city ( municipality ) and administrative center of the Nepalese district of Lamjung .
Besisahar was created in 2014 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Besishahar , Chandisthan , Gaunshahar and Udipur . The city is located on the right bank of the Marsyangdi .
To the south, Besisahar is connected to the Prithvi Rajmarg , the main road between Kathmandu and Pokhara , via Dumre . Since the paved road ends in Besisahar, it is an important starting point for treks on the Annapurna Circuit and the Manaslurunde . The place is also the starting point of the Yak Attack stage race. The urban area covers 45.02 km².

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Besisahar had 26,640 inhabitants.
