Madhyanepal ( Nepali मध्यनेपाल or Madhya Nepal ) is a city ( municipality ) in the southwest of the Lamjung district in central Nepal .

Madhyanepal means "middle of Nepal".

history

The city of Madhyanepal was created in September 2015 through the merger of the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Jita , Ramgha , Samibhanjyang , Suryapal and Tandrang .

In the course of the restructuring of the local level and the creation of the Gaunpalikas (rural communities) by amalgamating and abolishing the Village Development Committees on March 10, 2017, the northern neighboring city of Karaputar and the VDC Neta were incorporated into Madhyanepal.

geography

The city extends over the hill country east of Madi Khola 20 km southwest of the district capital Besisahar .

The city administration is located in the former VDC Ramgha on the left bank of the Madi Khola.

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Madhyanepal had 10,852 residents. After the incorporation in 2017, the population grew to 23,385.
