The Toblacher Pfannhorn ( Italian Corno di Fana ) is a 2663 m high mountain in the Villgraten mountains .
Location and surroundings
The Pfannhorn is a dominant mountain in the ridge of the Villgraten Mountains, which forms the border between South Tyrol and East Tyrol and thus between Italy and Austria . In the south it towers over the Silvester Valley, which flows into the Puster Valley near Toblach . To the north, its slopes fall against the municipality of Innervillgraten belonging Kalksteiner valley from out.
Climbs
The Toblacher Pfannhorn, which presents itself with mostly steep and grassy slopes, is easy to climb. From both Toblacher and Villgraten side marked paths lead to the summit, which offers views of the Villgraten mountains, Rieserferner group and the Dolomites . On the South Tyrolean side, the Bonner Hütte ( 2340 m ), located a little to the south-west and about an hour's walk from the summit, is a base for mountaineers.
