Tom Lahaye-Goffart (born April 4, 1996 in Liège ) is a Belgian biathlete.

Career

Lahaye-Goffart is the son of the former Belgian biathlete Fred Lahaye , who was the first Belgian athlete to contest a World Cup race ( 2000 in Ruhpolding). In 2012 he started biathlon after having been active in cross-country skiing. He lives with his family in the French Alps , in Bessans .

His first international title fights were the 2013 World Youth Championships in Obertilliach , where he finished 54th (pursuit) and 64th (individual) in all three races. A year later he achieved significantly better results at these championships with, among others, 16th place in the pursuit in Presque Isle 2014 . With the start of the 2014/15 season Lahaye-Goffart made his debut in the IBU Cup in Beitostølen , where he did not finish the sprint. At the 2015 adult world title competition in Kontiolahti , Finland , he competed in his only individual races to date that count towards the overall World Cup. After numerous shooting errors, he was 123rd in the individual and 119th in the sprint, which is also his best World Cup result. In the following years Tom Lahaye-Goffart took part alternately in the IBU Cup and IBU Junior Cup . In addition, participation in some junior world championships is included in his vita. At the 2016 World Championships , Lahaye-Goffart was on the side of Michael Rösch , Thierry Langer and Thorsten Langer as a member of the Belgian relay team, which came in 24th. Since Belgium started regularly taking part in the men's relay races at the start of the 2017/18 season , he has also mostly been part of the team.
