Tom Stamsnijder (born May 15, 1985 in Enter ) is a former Dutch cyclist .

Athletic career

As an U23 racing driver , Stamsnijder drove for the Rabobank Continental Team . He won the individual time trial and the overall ranking of the Mainfranken Tour in 2004. In 2005 he was also able to place himself in the top ranks of many, for example with his fourth place in the U23 events of the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix . In 2006 he won stages at the GP Tell and the Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda . He was also runner-up in the U23 event from Liège – Bastogne – Liège

In 2007 he received his first contract with a ProTeam , the German team Gerolsteiner . Since then he has not been victorious in international cycling races in the elite class. By 2016 he started a total of twelve times at Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España and ended these Grand Tours all but once. His best results were a second stage rank at the Vuelta a España 2007 and third place in the overall ranking of the Tour of Denmark . He retired from cycling in 2018 after struggling with an injury for a year and a half. He then worked for a sponsor of the Sunweb team.
