Hendrikus "Hennie" Johannes Maria Stamsnijder (born July 21, 1954 in Enter ) is a former Dutch cyclist and world champion.

Hennie Stamsnijder was an all-rounder who raced on the road as well as on the track , but was most successful in cyclo-cross races . In 1975 he became military world champion in cyclo-cross racing. In 1977 he was third in the Dutch championship in tandem racing , together with Gerrie Slot , 1978 national runner-up in the points race . In 1979 he became Dutch amateur road racing champion. Then he went over to the pros and won the title of Vice World Champion in cyclocross. The following year he was third in the cyclocross world championship, but also started in theTour de France . However, he was less successful there, in 1980 he was eliminated and in 1981 he finished 80th.

In 1981 Stamsnijder became the first Dutch cyclocross world champion and started the tour for the second and last time . In 1982 he finished third at the Cyclo-cross World Championship, second in 1984 and third again in 1986. He achieved numerous other victories in cyclocross races, and in 1983 he was again the Dutch vice world champion in points racing. He won the Superprestige Cyclocross racing series a total of four times . In 1989 he retired from active cycling.

In 1981, when he won the World Cup, Hennie Stamsnijder was named “ Sportsman of the Year ” in the Netherlands . After his retirement, he worked as the Dutch national coach of the cyclo-cross team. He then worked for the Shimano company . He is the father of the cyclist Tom Stamsnijder .
