Johannes Leonardus "Jan" Maas (born June 17, 1900 in Steenbergen , † September 5, 1977 there ) was a Dutch cyclist .

Jan Maas took part in the Olympic Games twice. In 1924 in Antwerp he started in three disciplines. In the team pursuit on the track , together with Gerard Bosch van Drakestein , Simon von Poelgeest and Frans Waterreus , the team from the Netherlands was eliminated in the first round. In the 50-kilometer race ( Scratch ) he was seventh and was instrumental in the victory of his teammate Ko Willems . At the direction of the team leader Bosch van Drakestein, he constantly attacked during the race in order to exhaust the other drivers; the plan worked: Willems won the gold medal. In the road race , he finished 19th. For the team standings, the results of the four best drivers from the Netherlands were added together and the team finished sixth.

At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 , Maas won the silver medal in the team pursuit on the track together with Bosch van Drakestein, Janus Braspennincx , Jan Pijnenburg and Piet van der Horst .

Maas also competed three times at the UCI Road World Championships : in 1922 he finished ninth, in 1923 he finished 21st and 1924 20th.
